So you’ve been good to yourself by scheduling regular massage but you are having a hard time sleeping lately well I have a few tips that might help until your next session.

  • a hot shower
  • a soak in the tub with Epsom salt
  • reading instead of watching the tv
  • putting your cell phone in the other room (screens affect sleep like tv’s)
  • a cup of chamomile/sleeping tea
  • turning off direct lighting
  • listen to some light music

With most things start with one thing and slowly integrate others in your life, maybe a long soak after a long day, or maybe reading your favorite book instead of using social media.  Rest is one of the most vital things that our body needs in order to function at its optimal level.  Did you know a 1/hr massage session can be like a 2-3 hour nap!!  We would all love a therapist to be at our beck and call but for most, it isn’t feasible but by following just one or two of the above ideas you could easily find yourself sleeping so much better in just a few days maybe even less.

What are some of your bedtime routines for promoting good sleep?  Leave them in the comments below and if you would like to learn more about what massage can do for you please visit my website or find me on Facebook!!
