I have so many clients come in lately only to tell me that they are stressed, having neck and shoulder issues. While this is not uncommon there may be another way to destress in between massages…

I want you to think for just a minute about why you’re stressed? Is it work, your home life or is it something physical like an injury?

If it is work, maybe a change is needed have you ever thought about a career change? If that’s not possible maybe its time to cash in that vacation time and step out of the office or workplace for a few days.


Maybe it’s your home life, maybe its time to pack your bags and head out on vacation or to a local resort so that you can unplug. A simple way to get away is to take a drive, put the windows down and take a day trip and explore with your family.

Finally have you recently done something you regularly do not do and injured yourself without realizing it? Maybe helping a friend move or cleaning out the garage? An injury isn’t always noticed immediately it may be slight and with everyday things may become worse…

So what is my point of this? We have to sometimes think outside of the box and look around at our stressors. We would all love to have a massage weekly sometimes daily and that is not always an option. What we can do is look at our environment and change things.

Sometimes stepping away from the work/home environment is the answer. Simply going for a walk, finding or resuming a hobby that reduces stress or simply taking a vacation is all we need to do!!

Sometimes rest is the best answer to stress, whether for your body or your mind. So do yourself and your body a favor and take the time to INVEST in your HEALTH!!
